The Challenge
The main challenge was 'Invisible Design' meets 'User Control'. We had to prevent the client from accidentally disrupting the visual hierarchy. Achieving this requiring a robust component-based CMS integration where content inputs were strictly mapped to frontend design tokens.
The Solution
We implemented a custom typographical grid system and smooth, subtle micro-interactions. The 'Team' section features an intelligent layout engine that rebalances the grid automatically as new lawyers are added, ensuring the site always looks professionally curated.
Key Features Delivered
- Strict Typographical Grid System
- Broken-proof Custom CMS for Client Management
- Intelligent 'Auto-Balancing' Team Grid
- Editorial layout for Client Accolades
- Seamless bi-lingual support (DE/EN)
Concept & Process

Self-Managed Profile Architecture: The client can add unlimited partners. The grid automatically adapts to maintain the strict 'editorial scale' without breaking the layout.
Detailed Description
Ampersand is not just a law firm; it is a premier institution in Munich's intellectual property landscape. The digital experience had to reflect this elite status while solving a critical operational need: Autonomy. The client required a fully manageable CMS where they could add new partners and legal articles without 'breaking' the strict minimalist layout. My role was to architect a rigid frontend system that adapts flexibly to dynamic content. We focused heavily on the 'Team' section, creating a profile structure that looks bespoke for every lawyer, regardless of the length of their bio or the orientation of their photo.
